A Guide to Mafia Roleplay
Background Information
Typical Mafias are based on respect and fear, whether they're using verbal, or physical abuse towards another person to get what they want. Mafias like to stay out of the spotlight of criminal attention by hosting civilians events, whether it's donating to charities, or hosting local gatherings. Mafias like to gain respect from civilians and the law enforcement agencies to take the attention off of themselves for crime that they've committed. Respect is number one in the mafia, if you show no respect, and you're not respected, you will be whacked.
Mafia Ranking System
Boss (aka Don) > Under Boss > Capo's (Usually 3 or more) > Soldiers > Associates
Boss (aka Don)
The Don is the most powerfull man in the mafia, he controls sections of the city. The Don is untouchable, whether he's bribing cops or bribing judges. He's the family man, respected by the whole family, anyone is willing to impress the Don and will do anything for him.
Under Boss
The Under Boss is second in charge of the family, and can give orders to the family as well. But the under boss is not as powerful, and must give full respect to the Don as well.
Capos
Capos are Captains of the family, they get a high pay, and give most of the orders to the lower ranks in the mafia. Capos order the soldiers to do the whacking of others within the city, and keep everything for the soldiers organized. Capos supervise the soldiers for any wrong doings, or snitchings.
Soldiers
Soldier are the right and do the missions if the capo or don orders them. Also underboss. Solders are half skill in shooting and fights. They can try to escort business better. Associates are the ones that protects the business and can not escort business well.
Associates
When you first join the mafia, you aren't recognized as a full member. You're sent out to do missions such as collecting money, driving others around, roughing up a few enemies. Associates get the lowest pay, and the least amount of respect.
Weaponry
Don
The Don can carry any weapon he pleases, but usually travels light. After all, there are people there to take a bullet for him always. Shot Gun - Pistol
Under Boss
The Under Boss has the same rights as the Don with weaponry. Assault Rife - Sub Machine Gun - Shot Gun - Pistol - Explosives
Capos
Caps have similar weaponry as the Don and Under Boss. Assault Rifle - Sub Machine Gun - Shot Gun - Pistol
Soldiers
Soldiers have an average weaponry. Sub Machine Gun - Pistol
Associates
Associates have a very basic weaponry. Pistol
Vehicles
Mafias use vehicles that are armored and tinted, but at the same time still low profile. Such as SUV's, 4 Doors Cars, VANS, Trucks. The colors are usually black, silver, or white.

Collecting Money
The mafia makes money most of the time illegally, whether it's scamming, fearing others into giving them money, selling illegal contraband.
Untaxed Gambling
In the clubs, bars, areas that mafia owns they offer gambling services in which the government does not know about, and when the government doesn't know about it, they don't get taxed for it, making huge profits.
Bootleg Cigarettes & Alcohol
The mafia buys bootlegged cigarettes and cell them buy the cartons, making huge profits. They also can buy or make their own bootlegged alcohol such as moonshine, wine, beer, etc and make huge profits.
Prostitution
You may think that prostitution is for gangsters (pimps) but not exactly, the mafia also pimps out both females and males for money, in which sexual favors are given for money payments.
Protection
The mafia intimidates others into paying for "protection" from business owners. In which the mafia offers to protect their business from violence and other not needed incidents.
Insurance Fraud
The mafia will burn down vehicles, buildings, business's, properties, etc. To receive money from the insurance companies to receive money.
Drugs & Weapons
The mafia will buy drugs such as meth, cocaine, heroine at bulk sizes for cheap prices, and sell them for money to receive profit. And they will do the same for weapons.
How to Join the Mafia
In order to join the mafia, you must hang around their areas, purchase things from them, give them gifts, do favors for them. Take some heat for them (take jail sentences for them, pay fines and tickets for them, etc.), respect them at all times.
Whackings
When the mafia whacks someone, they try to cover it up as best as they can. They will usually take you out of town, or take you somewhere secluded, get the job done quick and clean. Then bury you far from civilization. Not letting a word out to anyone else, about your disappearance. In order to whack someone, you must ask the Don. Without having the Don's permission, you are in very big trouble, and will most likely be whacked yourself.
