Lack of Business opportunites and RP in general (Rant)

I do realise that this is probably not up everyone's idea of fun or RP as we have a lot of people that want a lot of action or would rather race on the streets.

However,

I do find the lack of businesses and possible opportunities very bad. Everyone seems to wants be a bad guy or a troll character.

Businesses can be a great opportunity for legal and illegal characters.

For illegal characters a small local garage can be great cover for your drug/gun deals as well as making a little extra fixing cars, no that does not mean every customer gets offered drugs/guns, you have to be careful still..

Must of the business interiors are owned BUT never ever see them used or roleplayed in. This can be a great opportunity to hire staff and mingle with them and the customers.

There are some great places for any business to establish itself but to me most people just see them as a stat and never use them, this blocks others that might want to use that location but can't as it is owned.

This server can be great if we the players use our heads and RP like IRL, would you really constantly just provoke the cops? Think about IRL you would probably be banged up for 10 years and probably beaten up in jail. Think how you would feel when you get let out? Would you really on the first day provoke the cops again for ten minutes of fun on the outside before getting banged up for another 10 years? I doubt it.

This has unfortunatly turned into a rant so before I write anymore I'm gonna just post this and calm down as it is from the heart.

I think the reason everyone chooses to roleplay as an illegal is because of the fact there's more opportunities to keep busy on their side. It's all because they feel that there isn't anything great on the legal aspect besides being a police officer. Everything is interwoven together. More legals = More RP for illegals and/or greater chances to RP as a legal. I honestly can't think of more at the moment because I'm extremely tired, having only slept from 5am to 6am and I'm on my way to drivers ed and being there from 9am to 3pm, so I'll put in more details later on lol.

Oh I totally agree illegal does give some good RP but they also need some sort of cover, even a gang could probaly knock out a small garage in their turf area. After all if you got a little cover you can also launder cash etc which gives more RP. Afterall I think the tax man would question how you got a 10 mil mansion and not paid any tax what so ever

Unfortunately every GTASA RP server I've been on (especially MTA > SAMP a least..) illegal RP tends to dominate the legal RP, and it's so clearly visible even within playing for just a few days for a few hours. Why? GTASA. Look at the storyline and the kind of people at play it for the most (stereotyyppinngg!). A lot of people want to RP what they cannot do IRL. Little fantasies so to speak.

Along side that, of course, more opportunities etc as Fallen has said.

I have tried opening RP business that are fully run by players, they never take off, if you have an idea and would like to give one a try contact Petrovic Wallsch in game and I will help get a business area and will make you the manager so you can do everything pertaining to the business and I will just own the building. I have a few projects I'm trying but none of them seem to be taking off so if you wanna try I will help you out.

I have both a legal and illegal character and the reason for the domination of illegal character is simple, It more fun and worth while being a criminal. I have made millions of IG money by robbing and selling guns making me rich enough to comfortably live IG, Now that I have my legal character its so boring! I've tried to make the rp for gambling and racing but no one gambles IG and whenever I attempt to set up a race or Destruction Derby no one comes. I am currently negative on wages for attempting to make some racing rp in the server and its just not worth the time and effort to set up a business, advertise it and receive nothing ni return. Meanwhile I go on my illegal character and I have fun robbing people and houses as soon as I come on.
The reason for the domination of illegal characters is because all you really need is yourself. You do need a property or a car or a gun, You can do it whenever you like and you have great fun being a criminal.

Only one SAMP server I've been on... Out of the 2 I have... have had relatively hidden underground dealings. Businesses are generally used as a front for a mafia, typically clubs, bars/pubs, casinos, the big businesses. Gangs typically own your convenience shops, clothing stores, and other small venues, that also normally double as a defined territory.

Here, shops are just shops, businesses just business, not much behind them. I remember the Valario family when it was young had a pasta shop as its front. Probably the only one that I know of thus far.

This is exactly what I mean, Just cause it a business does not mean your character has to be legal to run it
